Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is set to keep Daniel Sturridge at the club this summer with the striker impressing so far in pre-season, and fans have taken to Twitter to react to the decision.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Klopp is willing to risk Sturridge walking away for free next summer by keeping him at the club for the final year of his £120,000-a-week contract.
Fans have now taken to Twitter to react to the news, with many seemingly happy with the final chance that is being handed to the talented but injury-prone striker.

If he can stay fit and plays as well with Keita as hes done in pre season, it'll be worth it.

Contract ends in June and will probably not be renewed, will cost us around £6m, has approx 1 goal in 2 games in FA cup and excellent record in league Cup. Not a player in the world that can offer what he does for £6m if he stays fit

Think seeing where he could end up has really made him knuckle down. Hope he can perform. When fit he's one of the best finishers in league

Nothing to lose for LFC. Final year of his contract. His wages are high but we won't find a better striker for less than 20-30 mil£

Great option off the bench if kept fit. LFC still short of attacking players coming off the bench though. Especially with Ox out for the season.

OPINION
There is no doubt that this decision will split opinion amongst Liverpool fans, but there is a large chunk of supporters that are happy with this decision. As pointed out by one here, the final year of the striker’s contract will only cost the club £6.2million. There is no chance that the club could secure a replacement of his quality this summer for that price, and so what is there to lose? The transfer fee that would be paid for Sturridge after his doomed spell at West Bromwich Albion last season would surely be low, and therefore not worth it for the club. It is a move which makes sense in the circumstances, and now we will just have to cross fingers and hope Sturridge stays fit for the majority of the season.
