Jurgen Klopp is open to the prospect of selling senior Liverpool duo Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet before the transfer window shuts this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The prestigious newspaper claim that the Reds could offload both goalkeepers following the £65million arrival of Alisson Becker with rookie keepers Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher believed to have impressed the German manager during pre-season.

The Telegraph report that Barcelona and Besiktas are believed to be keen on Mignolet while Karius is emerging as a potential target for Bayer Leverkusen who need a new shot-stopper after selling Bernd Leno to Arsenal.

OPINION

Both teenager keepers must have seriously impressed Klopp if he is considering letting both Mignolet and Karius walk out the doors of Anfield this summer. After the departure of Danny Ward to Leicester City, it seemed that the German boss would have to keep at least one of Mignolet or Karius but clearly he is willing to back two youngsters to be adequate cover for Alisson instead. It would be a huge gamble by Klopp but if it pays off then there will be several winners. The Reds would benefit from receiving transfer fees for both Mignolet and Karius while the two youngsters will no doubt develop further as they will learn valuable lessons from being around the senior squad. Also both Karius and Mignolet would no doubt be miserable rooted to the bench at Anfield next year and would no doubt love to be regularly playing next season, which is only going to happen if they join another club ahead of the upcoming campaign.
