Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that new first-choice goalkeeper Alisson is set to make his debut against Napoli in Dublin on Saturday, and many fans have taken to Twitter to react with excitement to the news.
As reported on the club’s official website, Klopp has confirmed that the 26-year-old Brazil international is all but certain to make his bow for the Reds in their game against the Serie A club.
The Liverpool boss is quoted as saying: “It’s pretty likely [he’ll make his debut]. We should not waste time. Then it’ll be nearly a week, or six days in training, since he [started] and yes, he will play.”
A section of fans have now reacted excitedly on Twitter, with supporters obviously raring to see the stopper in action following his world-record switch from Roma.

OPINION
These Liverpool fans are obviously excited to see Alisson make his debut for the club ahead of what could be a breakthrough season for the Reds in their search for silverware. Goalkeeper has been a hugely problematic position for the club in recent years, with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius both not up to scratch, and there are high hopes for the Brazilian ahead of the new campaign. He certainly has a lot to live up to with his £67million price tag, but the 26-year-old looks well up to the task. If he does fix Liverpool’s problems in goal then Liverpool could be in for an exciting season in 2018/19, with the squad looking the strongest it has in many years.
