Jordan Henderson is clearly struggling to deliver the goods for Liverpool if his performance during the 1-1 draw with Chelsea is anything to go by.

The central midfielder failed to get to grips with the game win the midfield battle for his side and it was no surprise when Jurgen Klopp called him over to the bench to remove him from the game before the final whistle.

Henderson, who earns £100,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), is having woeful time at Anfield as it’s clear his first-team spot should be in jeopardy.

Aside from putting in a weak display against the Blues on Saturday, the midfielder had a disappointing time against Leicester City earlier in the season as well.

Henderson did shine for the Reds against Paris St Germain but that amazing display now looks like the exception to the rule rather than the level his current form is at.

The midfielder’s woes while deployed in the No.6 role are made even worse by the way his teammate Georginio Wijnaldum is currently excelling when handed a similar task.

The Dutch intentional has been tremendous in the majority of his outings this season and has taken his game to a whole new level.

Wjnaldum is able to beautifully distributed the ball, while controlling the tempo of the game and is also able to aid his side’s defensive strength by getting himself in a fantastic position to intercept any potential danger.

The midfielder’s ability to put in Man of the Match-esque display like the ones against the Blues are just making Henderson’s woes even worse.

The 27-year-old is showing his club captain that it is not a hard task being asked of him by Jurgen Klopp and it just highlights how Henderson is struggling this season.

This all means that even Henderson has to significantly up his game or he is going to end up in his teammate’s shadow and more worryingly for him, on the bench.
