Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita’s half-brother has been training at the club’s Academy, according to ESPN FC.
The sports broadcaster reports on their website the 23-year-old’s starlet younger sibling – not Petit Keita, who was previously identified as the brother in question – has been training at the Kirkby complex on an informal basis.
The brother cannot be named due to safe guarding reasons – but it has been made clear that it is not Petit who has been training with the Reds.

Naby Keita is already an established player at Liverpool, so it would not be surprising if one of his younger siblings followed in his footsteps. It is not known what position this younger brother plays, but if he is half as good as Naby is, then we will be in for a real treat. However, the report states that the youngster has been training with the Academy on an informal basis, which does not necessarily mean that the club are interested in taking him on. The fact that ESPN cannot name him for safeguarding reasons goes to show how young the brother is – so it remains to be seen what him training with the club actually means. It is hard to judge whether the brother will be a good fit for Liverpool, but if he is as good as the other young talent that Liverpool have signed in the past, then he should make for an interesting watch. A talent for football obviously runs in the Keita family, especially if one of the other brothers is training with Liverpool.
