Liverpool welcome Cardiff City to Anfield on Saturday as they return to Premier League action, and Jurgen Klopp is expected to make three changes to his starting XI.

The Reds romped to a 4-0 home win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday night to go top of their group and bounce back from a defeat by Napoli last time out in the competition.

Attention turns back to domestic football for a couple of weeks now with Cardiff travelling to Anfield on the back of their first win of the season, a 4-2 triumph over Fulham at the weekend.

In goal, Alisson is expected to start as usual.

In defence, Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to keep his place, while Virgil van Dijk is expected to partner Dejan Lovren, who is likely to replace Joe Gomez in the centre, while Andy Robertson is likely to retain his place on the left.

In midfield, James Milner is expected to replace Fabinho, with Gini Wijnaldum and Xherdan Shaqiri both retaining their places in the starting XI.

In attack, Sadio Mane is expected to retain his place, while 5ft 10in striker Daniel Sturridge [Transfermarkt] is likely to deputise for £180,000-a-week ace Roberto Firmino [Total Sportek] up front, with Mohamed Salah on the other flank.
