Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has been identified as a target for AC Milan, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian outlet report on their website that the Italian heavyweights are interested in taking the Reds’ summer recruit on loan for the second half of the season in January, and are monitoring Fabinho’s situation at Anfield just months after he signed for the club.

The Serie A outfit are said to be in need of a midfielder like the Brazilian after Lucas Biglia was sidelined for four months following surgery to his calf.

OPINION

Considering that Fabinho was only signed in the last transfer window, the likelihood of Liverpool letting him leave on loan in January is very slim indeed. Yes, admittedly he has taken a while to get used to playing in the style of the Premier League, but in the last few games, he has really shown what he is about and why Jurgen Klopp made the effort to sign him. Letting him leave in January would be completely unnecessary, especially now that he is getting a lot more game time than he used to. He has only just got used to playing in England, and he would essentially be brought back to square one if he made the move to Italy. There is no guarantee that he would adjust to their playing style in such a short space of time, so attempting to secure a temporary deal for him could really back fire on AC Milan. Either way, this move is very unlikely to happen given that Fabinho was only signed in the summer.
