Turkish giants Fenerbahce are interested in acquiring Liverpool attacker Daniel Sturridge, according to Hurriyet.

The Turkish news outlet share that Fenerbahce, who are in this season’s Europa League, will go all out for the Reds player if a suitor emerges for current attacking option Roberto Soldado.

Hurriyet report that if the Europa League hopeful are unable to get Soldado off their books ready for the January window, they will go after Sturridge for free in the summer once his contract expires.

OPINION

Sturridge’s current  £120,000-a-week (Source:Spotrac) deal is due to expire at the end of the season but after impressing this season, it’s hard to see him not getting another deal. Therefore if Fenerbahce are really that keen on recruiting the Reds forward then they will need to go all out to tempt him in January. Given that they have to get rid of Soldado in order for that to happen, it seems another hurdle to their desire for the lethal finisher. Also as the report above states with Sturridge currently having betting related charges hanging over his head, the forward’s situation may change. For this reason while it’s hard to picture the 29-year-old who has scored four in twelve this season leaving, perhaps the possible outcome of his current situation will change the scenario enough to see Fenerbahce have a chance of getting him. However as it stands for now, this report Fenerbahce have a very slim chance of getting their hands on the Reds forward anytime soon.
