Liverpool are most likely to bring in an attacking midfielder in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster reports on their website that after the move for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir fell through in the summer due to medical reasons, it is not yet been revealed whether the Reds will reignite their move for the player.

The report adds that Liverpool could sign a “Fekir type” of player in the next transfer window, with Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, who is strutting his stuff in Germany as well as the Champions League, also being touted as a target for former manager Jurgen Klopp, who was in charge at Dortmund for five months after signing the young talent.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey’s contract expires in the summer, but Sky Sports have said that the Reds have no interest in bringing him to Anfield anytime soon.

OPINION

Liverpool boss Klopp has previously stated that the club were not interested in signing anyone in January bar an injury crisis and the fact that he thinks that every position is sufficiently covered. However, it remains to be seen just how much Liverpool need to sign a player who is similiar to Nabil Fekir. Fans will no doubt be tired of hearing his name by now, but there is no reason why the Reds need to bring in another attacking player. Yes, there is no denying that Pulisic is a great talent, but just where would he fit into the starting XI if he were to make the move to Merseyside? Klopp has an abundance of attacking players at his disposal, and he would just create overcrowding by signing the young American. As for Ramsey, it is wise that they have no interest in bringing him to the club. Klopp has more than enough midfielders to meet the club’s needs at the moment, even if Ramsey will most likely be available on a free transfer in the summer.
