Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a self-confessed fan of Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic.

The German told Sky Sports about his admiration for the player in the summer, saying: “I like Christian, I’ve known him since he was a kid. He’s still not really old, he’s a fantastic player, and it’s deserved people think highly of him in America.

“If – at one point – he will join us, I don’t know.”

The American international’s latest comments will no doubt interest the Reds boss, then, with Pulisic opening up about the possibility of a move to England.

“England, the Premier League, is a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here,” he told the Mirror.

“Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, then that’s when those things happen,” he finished.

Now that it is known that the 20-year-old sensation is interested in a move to the Premier League, Liverpool must ensure that they are the team he joins if he ever swaps Germany for England.

Klopp’s Dortmund connection obviously helps in that regard, but aside from that USA international Pulisic would quite simply be a stunning signing for the Reds.

The winger is one of the outstanding young players in world football and looks set to have a huge career. It’s unlikely that that will be at Dortmund, who have shown a propensity for selling their top stars in recent years, and so Liverpool would be the ideal next step for him.

We’ve seen this season that when Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane aren’t fully firing that the Reds can struggle to score, winning multiple games by narrow margins this term.

Having Pulisic as a high quality alternative would ensure that Klopp has options when things aren’t going well with his preferred front three.

At 20 years of age he’s a signing for the future, but he would also improve this Reds team right now. If any of the team’s front three drop off in quality then Pulisic will take their starting spot and not look back.

The player wants to move to England, Klopp likes him, so there’s no reason why Pulisic shouldn’t be wearing Liverpool red in a few years time.
