COMMENTARY
Georginio Wijnaldum started for Liverpool against Bournemouth and lots of Reds supporters were left unimpressed by the midfielder’s latest outing. The Reds may have defeated the Cherries 4-0 on Saturday but it seems that several of them didn’t credit Wijnaldum with playing any major part in the club’s latest victory. The 28-year-old is arguably having the best season of his career yet in the current campaign so you feel some of these fans are criticising him because he didn’t meet the high standards he has set for himself this season. In fact while Wijnaldum was quiet against the Cherries, the level of criticism he received below courtesy of Twitter seems unnecessarily harsh. The fan who called the 28-year-old genuinely useless was in particularly a little too mean about the player’s latest performance as well he wasn’t aiding the Reds’ attack, he was doing his part to help his side win the midfield battle.
