Liverpool have re-entered the fray to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot this month, according to Paris United

The Paris-based site report that Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham are also making moves for the France international, with Spurs looking the most keen.

Paris United claim that Liverpool could have the upper hand however, with the midfield star said to prefer a move to Anfield over any other Premier League club.

It is said that bosses at the Champions League club are currently blocking manager Thomas Tuchel from playing Rabiot after he refused to sign a new deal, with the 23-year-old currently frozen out.

OPINION

Despite the obvious fact that Rabiot is a fantastic young player who could go on to become world-class, it would seem a strange move for Liverpool to sign another midfielder this month. That is an area in which Jurgen Klopp has plenty of cover, with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, James Milner, Gini Wijnaldum, Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all options in that position. To introduce another quality player into the mix would likely cause more problems that it would solve, especially a player like Rabiot who obviously has a big ego. This is not to say that the Reds are not interested, with the chance to sign Rabiot on the cheap almost too good to pass up for any side, but merely that it would be an unnecessary move. At this moment in time it looks like Tottenham may be the team trying hardest to sign Rabiot, but whether the midfielder would like a move to north London is not clear.
