Liverpool are on the hunt for another loan destination for young dazzler Ben Woodburn, and Championship side Hull City look to be at the front of the queue.

As reported by reliable journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter, the Tigers are pushing the hardest to sign the Wales international on a temporary deal this month.

Liverpool are known to have strict guidelines on playing time for their loanees, with teams hit by financial penalties if the player in question is not handed enough minutes.

It seems however that Hull are still keen on a deal for Woodburn, which would suggest that manager Nigel Adkins is confident that the club will be able to play the 19-year-old enough to appease the Reds.

From Liverpool and Woodburn’s point-of-view this would be a brilliant move to continue his development, with the Tigers looking like they could make a late charge for the play-offs.

Entering the fray at this point in the season would give Woodburn some valuable experience in a high-pressure situation, but one which does not involve the extra intensity of a relegation battle.

On another note, the Reds only need to think back to last season to understand how good a move this could be, with fellow starlet Harry Wilson enjoying a prolific spell at the KCOM Stadium.

Wilson’s time in East Yorkshire, which saw him score seven goals and lay on four assists in just 14 games, is all the evidence that Liverpool need to see this would be a good move for Woodburn.

The Reds must now try and push through such a move and get Woodburn’s development going again after a poor spell at Sheffield United during the first half of the season.
