Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be well advised to hand striker Divock Origi a rare start against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.

The Belgian international, on a reported £28,000-per-week [Source: Spotrac], hasn’t been seen too often since his derby day heroics against Everton at the start of last month, however, Monday’s FA Cup tie is the ideal chance to see him in action from the start.

Klopp must carefully consider his priorities as he juggles a Premier League title tilt with a Champions League campaign, and that should result in the manager making eight changes to the team that lost to Manchester City on Thursday.

Only Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk should survive that game, with Liverpool’s superior strength in depth being enough for them to breeze past a Wolves side who will likely also make changes.

First choice goalkeeper Alisson should be handed a rare rest, with Simon Mignolet deserving of an opportunity here. Unfortunately the Reds are a bit short on defensive cover at the moment, meaning that Alexander-Arnold, Lovren and Van Dijk must all play from the start once again.

Andrew Robertson should get a night off, however, with left back Alberto Moreno ready and willing to replace him at Molineux.

Liverpool can afford to rest several players in midfield and attack and still put out a good team on Monday. In a 4-4-2 formation, Fabinho, Naby Keita, Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri should make up a formidable midfield quartet.

Klopp will likely give Liverpool’s formidable front three a night off, meaning that Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi should line up ahead of Shaqiri.
