OPINION
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita struggled once again in his team’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United on Monday night. For whatever reason it’s just not happened in a red shirt so far for the Guinea international. Perhaps he’s still adapting to English football, maybe he’s devoid of confidence, but whatever it is Keita is a shadow of the player he was for RB Leipzig at the moment. He seemed off the pace again against the Hammers. He couldn’t really get anything going and struggled to make an impact in what was a pretty flat performance from Jurgen Klopp’s side. He had some nice moments, memorably spinning away from Ryan Fredericks, but he was really poor defensively. Fabinho was left with the leg work for much of the game, with Keita and Adam Lallana seemingly content to contribute going forward but not fancying the defensive side of the contest. It’s a shame for Keita because it’s obvious that there is a talented player in there, but he looked lost once again on Monday.

Very poor and sloppy first half! Keita main culprit. Two halves are never the same #comeonlfc #LFCFamily #YNWA

I know he needs time to adapt to the premier league but keita atm is not showing me any reason as to why he should start for the club! hoping he proves me wrong and plays a big part in the title race! #WHULIV #LFC

Keita and Lallana as interiors is suicidal defensively. Not so much Lallana but Keita can’t block the half spaces or press effectively. Makes me appreciate Gini much more

Lallana and Keita bottling their chances to be starters for LFC, not really surprised why Keita gets dropped for Henderson or Milner. I hope they do better in the second half

Not good enough all over the park Matip, Keita and Lallana are bang average today. Watching the league slipping slowly away #LFC #WHULIV

Not bashing but if Keita wants to become a great LFC player he needs to show more for me.
Just strolling around the pitch.
Too pedestrian for me.— Paul (@whittlywoo) February 4, 2019
To conclude keita needs to get his act together and Robertson is only man on pitch #LFC

I’d like to point out every time Matip plays we leak goals, additionally Keita is embarrassing #8 jersey. Our midfield looks static and poor, our passing and ball control horrible. #WHULIV #LFC #YNWA #WeAreLiverpool #ThisShouldMeanMore
