Adrian Durham has argued that Real Madrid star should make a return to the English game this summer, and that Liverpool would be the ideal destination.
The Welshman, who is understood to be on a contract worth around £600,00-a-week, as reported by the Guardian, but continues to come under intense scrutiny in the Spanish capital.
And talkSPORT host Durham has argued that the Welsh captain would fit right in at Anfield.
Speaking on the station, he said: “For me he’s done some extraordinary things. He may not have been their best player over the years he’s been there. But he’s been an important part of an incredibly golden era for Real Madrid.
“Gareth Bale is probably at the end of his tether. What’s the point in him staying there? He can’t really do any more than he has.
“He’s won nothing in the English game. This summer is the time for him to come, get yourself back here, go to a club that is going to win something, not Tottenham, and win things. Really drive a club forward.
“Whether it be a Liverpool or a Manchester United. He should be going to a club where he can make a difference.”

Bale would be a remarkable signing for Liverpool, the kind of next level acquisition that would affirm their position as one of the finest sides in Europe. It hasn’t always worked out for Bale in Spain, but there is no doubting that he is still, even during his rough patches, one of the brightest sparks in Europe when he gets going. He’s no spring chicken anymore, but he still has a few years at left at the peak of his powers, and it would make sense for him to return to England while he can still influence the league in the way that he used to. Durham likes to stir up the controversy when he can, but he musth actually be speaking a lot of sense here. The Welshman must surely be getting to a point where he has to reassess his playing situation, and while an English comeback would probably mean a payout, all things considered, it could be the best thing for him.
