Galatasaray are hot on the heels of Liverpool central-midfielder Marko Grujic, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper claims that the Turkish giants are tracking a player who has made only 14 senior appearances for the Reds.

The 22-year-old has excelled on loan at Hertha Berlin this season and Italian giants Lazio are also thought to be monitoring the Serbian international.

OPINION

Grujic has really emerged as a potential star out on loan in the Bundesliga this campaign and his stock has risen massively. Obviously there are a few different sides monitoring him, but it would surely be a surprise to see Liverpool part ways with him on a permanent basis this summer. He has been so impressive and has made such great progress in the German capital that you’d think he’s someone who Liverpool would want to keep hold of moving forward. Lazio have been linked with Grujic for a while now, while Galatasaray are a new name where the Serbian is concerned. Either move would in theory be good for the player, although he obviously wants to remain with Hertha moving forward. However, Liverpool should definitely keep hold of him given the progress he has made this term. Perhaps they should extend his loan with Hertha for another season, but there’s no way they should be letting him go on a permanent basis.
