Liverpool midfielder James Milner has praised Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez and believes having everyone back fit could be key for the Reds this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are pushing for Premier League and Champions League titles heading into the final stretch of the campaign, and will be boosted by the imminent return of the two England internationals.
Milner is over the moon to have them back: “I think it’s important that we have everyone available,” he said, as per the Daily Star. “That’s why you need a squad when you have these sorts of injuries and stuff.
“Ox has obviously been out a long time and was playing fantastically well before he got injured, Joe the same. He’s been brilliant when he’s played this season and formed a great partnership with Virgil [van Dijk]. So it’s important with the amount of games you’ve got and the intensity of the run-in that we have the squad.”

Milner is spot on, here. Liverpool are entering the most crucial stage of the season now and they need everyone fit and firing if they are to achieve their goals. Obviously the Premier League is the big thing for the Reds at the moment and that’s what they will be focusing on, but having the good squad that they do allows them to pursue European success at the same time. That’s where the return of Gomez and Oxlade-Chamberlain will come in handy. The Reds need multiple quality players in each position, and the two Englishmen are certainly quality operators. Oxlade-Chamberlian, as Milner says, was in unbelievable form before his devastating injury meant he is yet to play a game this campaign, while Gomez excelled in the early stages of this season. With those two men back in the fold and at their best it would be very difficult to stop Liverpool down the stretch this term.
