Liverpool have been handed a fitness boost as both Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita could recover from their recent knocks in time to face Tottenham, according to the London Evening Standard.

The newspaper claim that the duo both missed national team duty this week due to fitness issues but they are not expected to be on the sidelines for long.

The London Evening Standard report that Shaqiri and Keita could both be in contention to face Spurs on March 31st should they recover as quickly as they hope.

OPINION

While Keita and Shaqiri aren’t guaranteed starters at Anfield currently, Jurgen Klopp knows he needs all his players to choose from as the clash with Spurs is set to be a tricky one. Keita, who earns £120,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), has shown glimpses of his talent this season with the same being said for Shaqiri, who earns £80,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac). However at this stage of the season Klopp will want the pair to be able to perform to the maximum of their ability as they’re capable of helping the Reds getting the necessary results. Liverpool have just as much chance of winning the Premier League title as Manchester City but know they can’t afford to drop the ball. Spurs having many fantastic talents to call upon and they have a few players who could break Reds’ hearts. However an in-form Keita or Shaqiri could be a wildcard that Pochettino doesn’t see coming, and this news that they could return in time should be celebrated.
