Liverpool must sell attacker Sheyi Ojo as his current form for Reims shows that he is a long way off being ready to feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The 21-year-old penned a new contract with the Reds before joining the Ligue 1 side on loan and it’s simply not going to plan for him.

Ojo has featured 16 times for Reims, scoring one goal and registering one assist, and has struggled to cement a place in their first-team.

Despite the Ligue 1 club not being one of the division’s big hitters, Ojo can’t seem to force his way into the manager’s first-team plans.

In fact the pacey winger has only completed 90 minutes on one occasion and hasn’t played any part in Reims’ last eight league outings.

If this was only Ojo’s first disappointing loan spell then perhaps the Reds shouldn’t be ready to write him off, but that isn’t the case.

The 21-year-old may have been part of Fulham’s promotion winning team in his 2017/18 campaign, but that only masks the fact he didn’t excel to the degree you’d expect.

Ojo is known for his blistering pace and being unleashed regularly in the Championship should have seen him be more of an attacking force, especially if he made the most of his speed.

Yet the winger despite being given plenty of chances, he featured 24 times, didn’t stand out for Fulham as he didn’t have the ability to deliver the final ball after promising runs.

Ojo ended up not featuring in the Cottagers’ last five league games of the season and that says all you need to know.

When you consider that the winger doesn’t seem to be progressing and the Reds have other talented young wingers in their ranks, see Harry Wilson, the club must sell Ojo this summer as he’s not worth keeping on their books.

The only issue to getting rid of the 21-year-old in the next transfer window is due to his current form, the £15million price tag that was slapped on his head in August, as reported by Goal, will be a hurdle unless the Reds lower their demand.

However you feel with each passing season if the loaned-out speedster continues to deliver the performances he has been, then it may be a struggle to get even half that amount.

This means the Reds should get a good deal while it’s still plausible and sell him sooner rather than later.
