Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to axe captain Jordan Henderson and attacker Divock Origi for his team’s clash with Burnley on Sunday.

The England and Belgium internationals both started the goalless draw with Everton last week, however, Klopp will likely drop both players to the bench for the visit of the Clarets.

That will surely mean that James Milner and Roberto Firmino will come into the starting line up at Anfield. The latter is expected to be back to full fitness and will almost certainly start up front.

The Reds boss will be hoping for a big reaction from his players as they look to keep pace with champions Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Alisson has arguably been the top flight’s finest goalkeeper this season and there’s little to no chance that he’s unseated on Sunday. The same goes for left back Andrew Robertson, who will almost definitely keep his place. Trent Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, is sure to start at right back.

Klopp has happened upon a solid centre back partnership of late, and with the continuing absence of Joe Gomez it’s likely that Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk will continue at centre back against Burnley.

In midfield, Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum look set to keep their places. Both players have been hugely impressive this campaign and deserve to start again here. As mentioned, Milner will surely come in for Henderson.

Up front, the only change is likely to be Firmino for Origi. The Brazilian is a real game-changer given his goal threat and he must start here. Attackers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are both big parts of Klopp’s plans and will almost certainly remain in place at Anfield.
