Gary Lineker took to Twitter to heap praise on Manchester City and Liverpool for their form in the Premier League this season.
After Manchester City beat Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford this evening, Lineker praised both sides by tweeting from his personal Twitter account.
The presenter shared that it was huge achievement that Liverpool were only one point behind Man City in the race for the Premier League title and an enormous achievement for Man City to be one point ahead of Liverpool.
“Manchester City are a sensational side,” wrote the BBC presenter.
“The fact that Liverpool are only one point adrift of them is a huge achievement.
“Liverpool are an outstanding side. The fact that Manchester City are one point ahead of them is an enormous achievement.
“What a season.”

The 2018/19 Premier League season has arguably been one of the most entertaining, if not the most entertaining season in recent years, due to the sheer quality of the two sides involved in the title race. This season is going to go right down to the wire, there is absolutely no doubt about it. These are two of the best sides that we have seen in recent years in the Premier League, along with two of the best managers that we’ve seen too. The fact of the matter is, both sides are challenging for the same title, at the same time, and it’s truly remarkable. It is an achievement in it self for the Reds that they are only currently a single point behind this surreal Manchester City side, and whatever happens they should be completely proud of what they have achieved this season. There is no doubt that the eventual Premier League champions will be crowned on the final day of the season, and what an unbelievable title race it has been.
