Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has made his feelings clear this week about who he thinks will win the Premier League out of Liverpool and Manchester City.

As the Premier League season slowly comes to a close, the race for the title is more competitive than ever before.

In an interview with SkySports, the German international claimed that he thought Pep Guardiola’s Man City would win the league this season, due to the Reds still being in the Champions League.

“I think Man City first, because Liverpool also have the Champions League,” said Leno.

“Maybe they will lose a little bit of power and energy from the Champions League,

“I believe they have a realistic chance against Barcelona, it’s 50/50,

“Man City only have the cup final and the Premier League.”

OPINION

This season in the Premier League has been one of the most consistently competitive title races that we have seen in the last few years. Arguably, Liverpool have the easier run-in to the end of the season, with City still having to face Manchester United tonight at Old Trafford. Although the Reds are still in the Champions League, and have to face Barcelona over two legs, their Premier League fixture list is attractive in comparison to that of their rivals. Klopp’s men still have to face already relegated Huddersfield, Newcastle, and Wolves who will arguably be their toughest opponents left to play at Anfield. Either way, Liverpool can not afford any slight slip ups in the league if they want to get their hands on the Premier League trophy, as City have a game in hand and are still only two points behind the Reds. If Guardiola’s men can bring all three points home in the Manchester derby, the final push for the title will become a whole lot more interesting.
