COMMENTARY
Liverpool defeated Porto 2-0 on Tuesday and you’d think their relatively comfortable victory would have meant supporters were thrilled. However there were a section who couldn’t enjoy the victory completely, as they were unimpressed by the performance of Dejan Lovren. Many Reds supporters on social media opted to tear the centre-back apart due to being so dismayed at his performance, with one hoping to never see him play in the Premier League anytime soon. While the 29-year-old wasn’t a contender for Man of the Match, it does seem like several Reds fans were hard to please when it came to the defender’s performance. At times he did cause supporters to have their hearts in their mouth by sliding in on some of Porto’s players, but that’s the only real negative that could be said about his performance. Reds supporters have grown accustomed to seeing the calm Joe Gomez or Joel Matip partnering Virgil van Dijk and it seems they’re not capable of tolerating watching Lovren anymore as a result.
