Mo Salah had a message for Liverpool fans as the Premier League season came to a close and stressed the importance of the travelling support in the Reds’ upcoming Champions League final.

Liverpool came just short of the Premier League title this season, but have another chance for silverware as they face Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid.

In a post from his personal Twitter account, Salah said: “It feels bittersweet now but the season isn’t over. I want to say thank you to my teammates, coaches, and to the fans. And fans, please bring Anfield to Madrid.”

Salah has arguably been Liverpool’s best player this season, and for one of the figureheads of the club to send a message like this to the fans, it really shows how much faith the players have in the team and fan base respectively.

Liverpool have some of the best fans in the world, but some of them will be downhearted after a long and effectively unsuccessful season in the Premier League have come to an end.

However, the Egyptian has taken it upon himself to keep the faith amongst the Liverpool fans ahead of their European clash with Spurs.

It takes a strong player to stand up and speak out when the club has come so close, yet so far from Premier League glory, and send a message of this nature to the fans, and the Liverpool faithful will no doubt respond and metaphorically ‘bring Anfield to Madrid”.

There will be certain faces who will emerge from the Liverpool dressing room ahead of the Champions League final and give messages to the fans, and Salah is leading the way.

As the Reds’ star striker said, the season is not over yet, and there is still lots to do for the players and the fans in preparation for their trip to Madrid.
