It’s always important for Premier League clubs to send their young players out onĀ loan to gain experience of first team football and Liverpool are no different.

The Reds have had some big success stories out on loan this season, particularly Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic, but one of the unheralded stars was Herbie Kane at Doncaster Rovers.

Now, it appears the 20-year-old could be moving up a level. The Hull Daily Mail reported on Thursday that Hull City are plotting a loan move for the midfielder this summer.

It’s vitally important that Liverpool make the right decision here, and the correct call is undoubtedly to send Kane out on loan again but at a higher level this time. In that respect Hull would be an ideal move for him.

The youngster is unlikely to be involved at first team level for Jurgen Klopp’s team next season and so it’s best to give him some game time somewhere else again. He made tremendous progress with Grant McCann’s team this campaign, but he needs to kick on at Championship level now.

Obviously Donny could still achieve second tier status, but as they trail Charlton Athletic going into their League One play off semi final second leg, it’s not looking great at the moment.

The Tigers, though, would be a perfect stop for him. They finished last season pretty well and have an excellent manager in Nigel Adkins. He’ll have no problem giving a young player like Kane a chance, so a switch to the KCOM Stadium would be ideal.

It’s always a good idea to cultivate the progress of your young stars, and Liverpool have an ideal opportunity to do so with Kane here. They must make the right call.
