Jurgen Klopp must put all of his focus on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Julian Brandt in the summer after the German was linked with a move to Anfield.

The 23-year old is reportedly likely to make the switch to either Borussia Dortmund or Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.

Liverpool fans will be hoping it’s the later however, as Brandt would seriously bolster the Reds’ attacking options ahead of next season.

Arguably, one of the things which could’ve been improved this past season for Klopp’s men was squad depth, and bringing in a player of Brandt’s quality could be a key move in bringing Premier League success to Merseyside next season.

The German attacking midfielder, who can also play as a winger, is reported to have a release clause of €25 million (£21.61m) with Bayer Leverkusen according to the Mirror, which seems like a very reasonable price considering the potential that comes with the player.

Brandt, who has 24 caps for his country, has registered six goals and 14 assists this season in the Bundesliga, and could definitely bring his form to England next season and be a real asset as a Liverpool player.

The midfielder also has time to adjust to the Premier League being only 23 years of age, and further develop upon arrival, which is always a positive for Klopp when considering which players to recruit in the summer.

Also, with the likes of James Milner reaching the later stages of his career, it is likely that Klopp will be looking to bring some fresh faces to Anfield over the summer, especially in the midfield area.

This would overall be a great move for Klopp and Liverpool, and the Reds’ manager should do everything in his power to prevent Brandt from snubbing Liverpool and choosing his former side Dortmund.
