Wolves defender Conor Coady has delivered a gushing verdict on Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The 20-year-old was in superb form for the Merseyside giants last season as they won the Champions League title and achieved a record points haul in the Premier League.

And Coady has not shied away from offering the England international all the praise he deserves.

Coady also shared what he’s heard Alexander-Arnold saying about being the potential captain of the Reds in the future.

“It’s incredible,” Coady told Liverpool’s official website. “People have to realise how tough it is to make it at such a big club like this and realise what he has actually done.

“How he has gone about his business is absolutely brilliant. You see how much he loves Liverpool Football Club, I’ve heard him talk plenty of times saying he wants to go on to be Liverpool captain, he wants to spend his career at Liverpool, this is his club – and you really believe him when he says it.

“I hope people realise how tough it is to make it at a club like this, because it is tough, and the achievement is remarkable.

“The Barcelona game, the corner, will live in every Liverpool fan’s mind for many, many years. To have that confidence to do that in front of the Kop was special.”

OPINION

Alexander-Arnold is still a young player, but he has shown all the signs of someone who can go on to be one of the best right-backs to ever grace Anfield and even become the club’s captain in the future. He is Liverpool born and bred and is a product of the Merseyside’s academy. He is a superb player with massive potential and as far as we can tell right now, he’s going to be one of the best right-backs in world football – if he isn’t already. Coady’s praise of Alexander-Arnold is not a surprise at all. The Wolves star came through the academy at Liverpool and is from Merseyside so clearly still has his eyes on what is happening at his former club. Maybe he will play with Alexander-Arnold in the future for England? Coady was brilliant for Wolves in their first season back in the Premier League. He is surely hoping to link up with the Anfied flyer.
