Jamie Carragher made a harmless cheeky remark about Liverpool potentially signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe, and it didn’t go unnoticed by a section of Liverpool fans. The Reds legend while wishing Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce all the best, as he shared he was leaving the Echo, joked that he hoped the reporter would be around to “break” the news about Mbappe on July 1st. This, of course, was suggesting that the Reds would be signing the 20-year-old forward, and that is an exciting prospect. Mbappe scored 39 goals and registered 17 assists in his 43 outings for PSG in his 2018/19 campaign, and was involved in a staggering 40% of PSG’s league goals (Source: Transfermarkt). Given that Mbappe is still young, so is destined to improve, and is already able to make such a huge impact at a club like PSG, Liverpool would surely love to have him. This was shown by how Liverpool fans reacted to Carragher’s cheeky tweet via his personal account as one called the legend a tease while several just shared gifs showing how taken back they were.
