Nathaniel Clyne wants to quit Liverpool and return to former club Crystal Palace this summer, according to Football Insider.

The reliable news outlet claims that Clyne, 28, has told his friends that he wants to end his four-year association with the Merseyside club before the start of next season and is keen to have a second spell at Selhurst Park.

It is understood that Liverpool want over £12million for the England international, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Bournemouth.

OPINION

Crystal Palace might need a new right-back this summer with Aaron Wan-Bissaka reportedly in talks to join Manchester United. Clyne is someone who knows the club and will definitely be able to do a decent job for them. Plus at around £12million, he could be quite the bargain. Clyne has 14 caps for England and 185 Premier League appearances to his name from spells at Palace, Southampton, Liverpool and Bournemouth. The 28-year-old has had his injury issues when he missed almost all of the 2017/18 season, but after getting over that and returning to full fitness, he should be ready to play regularly for a team like Palace. Liverpool don’t really need Clyne anymore and with him in the last year of his contract, getting £12million is probably as good as they can hope for. Palace might not be the only team interested in the English right-back but if he has his heart set on a return to Selhurst, it might be hard for other clubs to snap him up.
