Some Liverpool fans urged Jurgen Klopp to sign Gremio attacker Everton after watching him in action for Brazil on Saturday. The 23-year-old winger, nicknamed ‘Little Onion’ due to resembling a character from a Brazilian television show (Source: The Independent), scored during Brazil’s 5-0 win over Peru and seemingly stole the hearts of Reds fans in the process. One Liverpool fan tweeted “what a player” about Everton and urged Reds attacker Roberto Firmino to act like an agent and convince his fellow Brazilian to join Klopp’s squad, while another suggested the Reds should sign the attacker as he would be a cheap option and good back up for Sadio Mane. While Everton was fantastic on Saturday for his country, maybe Reds fans should calm down when it comes to their campaign to sign him.  The 23-year-old has never played outside of Brazil so it’s unclear whether he’d be as formidable in the English Premier League if signed. However then again it is worth noting that Everton does seem to be tearing it up so far in 2019 for Gremio as he has scored six goals in 12 outings. It’s also worth mentioning that WhoScored highlight that Everton is the type of player who loves to cut inside and dribble at his opponents and they pointed out he has averaged 1.7 shots per game so far in the Copa America; which makes him sound like a very exciting prospect. So maybe this section of Liverpool fans have a point.
