Gary Neville cheekily claimed he was sick of both Liverpool and Manchester City when asked which side he preferred.

The former Manchester United player stated that he refused to answer that question but did respond by saying he was sick of them and that both should be gotten rid of.

Neville being asked who he prefered out of the Reds and Man City saw his quick-fire question session with the EFL end as he removed his microphone while answering.

“Man City or Liverpool? Get rid of them,” said Neville during a quick-fire question session with the EFL, on their Twitter account.

“Not answering that one, sick of them.”

OPINION

It seems Neville still is uncomfortable with the events of the 2018/19 season. The pundit likely had a terrible time during the latest campaign due to his Man United connections,  as he probably didn’t enjoy seeing Man City and Liverpool be so successful. Man City and Liverpool battled it out at the top of the Premier League all season long, with Pep Guardiola’s side just about pipping the Reds to the post by clinching the title on the last day. To make matters worse, Neville’s former side Manchester United finished a disappointing sixth in the league, 31 points behind archrivals Liverpool and 32 points behind local rivals Man City. Also if that wasn’t enough to see Neville be somewhat bitter about Man City and Liverpool, the Reds no doubt made matters worse for him when they beat Tottenham to the Champions League trophy. While Neville is probably trying to be optimistic about the 2019/20 campaign, it’s worth noting that Man City and Liverpool don’t show any sign that they’re about to drop the ball and stop being formidable.
