OPINION

Jurgen Klopp is right to snub Bayern Munich rumours after Champions League success with Liverpool.

Klopp, who still has a long-term contract with the Champions League winners until 2022, is not interested in a move back to the Bundesliga.

BILD claim that Bayern legend Franz Beckenbaeur urged the German giants to do all they can to bring Klopp back to Germany, and claimed that he is one of the “best managers in the world.”

However, the Reds’ boss remained strong that his desire is to remain at Anfield, despite the comments of the German international legend, and he was completely right in doing so.

“I like Franz – and he likes me. But I have a long-term contract in Liverpool,” said Klopp, as transcribed by BILD.

“However, both Bayern and Borussia Dortmund have very good coaches. And what could be in five years or more, I do not know,

“Maybe there will be completely different coaches that qualify.”

This is good news for Liverpool fans, and although it seems unlikely that Klopp would leave Liverpool just after finishing second in the Premier League and winning the Champions League, the temptation will always be there to return back to his home country, and the German coach was right to ignore said temptations.

Beckenbaeur’s comments on his fellow German are arguably accurate, and Klopp will no doubt be considered as one of the best coaches in the world after what he has achieved this season with Liverpool in the Premier League and the Champions League.

Although it seems that Beckenbaeur and Klopp are familiar with each other, friends in fact, it seems it will take more than just a simple request to prise the German away from the European Champions anytime soon, and Reds fans will be happy to hear that their boss has effectively shut down any rumours of a return to Germany due to his ongoing contract with the Merseyside club.

Klopp would be silly to chose a move to Germany over staying in England, especially after winning the league, as to truly be considered as one of the best coaches in the world, he will need to win the Premier League.

However as for now many Liverpool fans will just be thrilled that the key man has reiterated his commitment to the club.
