Liverpool attacker Divock Origi is set for a new contract with the club following his Champions League heroics and deserves a bigger role next season.

According to The Mirror, the Belgian will sit down and talk with Liverpool, after being offered a new deal with the club with Liverpool looking to tie him down to a long-term deal.

The Mirror also report that although Origi has persuaded Jurgen Klopp that he can be another attacking option for the Reds, and has also persuaded the manager that he deserves a better contract and can play a bigger role for the Reds.

Based on Klopp’s view, Origi is surely bound to feature more in his 2019/20 campaign, as how could he not?

After the heroics shown by Origi in the Champions League this season, it would’ve been extremely difficult for the club not to offer him a new and improved contract at Anfield, and the decision would’ve most certainly come with a whole load of backlash from the Liverpool faithful.

Klopp clearly sees something special in the Belgian, and has been seen to trust him on the biggest stage of them all for the majority of the season, and he has stepped up when called upon, so it could be argued that he does deserve a bigger role at the club.

The 6ft tall forward (Source: Transfermrkt) deserves everything that he gets, and after his impressive and ultimately historic Champions League campaign this year, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him featuring more regularly in a Liverpool shirt next season.

Although the 24-year old has only featured 21 times in all competitions for Liverpool this season, he finished the season as their fourth top scorer, which surely warrants more game time next season alongside a more attractive contract.
