Rangers manager Steven Gerrard took a hands-on approach when it came to training on Saturday and it saw some Liverpool supporters raving about him on social media. Rangers’ official Twitter account shared a clip of Gerrard taking part in training where he scored a goal, and it led to one Liverpool fan urging the club to sign him back. While that Reds fan may have been exaggerating their opinion, as the 39-year-old’s goal wasn’t so good to suggest he could come out of retirement and feature for Jurgen Klopp’s side, it did show how loved Gerrard still is at Anfield. The 39-year-old may be fully focused on the job at hand at Ibrox, but after 504 times for the Reds; he’ll remain synonymous with the club. Gerrard has a tough 2019/20 season ahead of him with the Gers as the pressure will be on him to deliver the goods. Gerrard’s Rangers finished nine points behind Celtic in the table in his first season in charge, and the emphasis will now be on him not just closing the gap, but on pipping them to the post. While that is a big ask, at least Gerrard will also have Liverpool supporters rooting for him to do well.
