OPINION
This was probably not the transfer news that Liverpool fans had been hoping for if the truth be told. The Reds confirmed via their official Twitter account on Tuesday evening that Sheyi Ojo has completed a deal that will see him spend next season out on loan at Rangers under Steven Gerrard. But rather than rejoicing at the prospect of a bright young talent going out and making his way in the world, with the potential for him to come back as a much more complete player, many fans simply saw it as an opportunity to lobby the club for some more exciting transfer news – namely some incoming deals. There is also a notable sentiment among some fans that Ojo should be leaving on a permanent basis. To that end, as harsh as it may seem, you have to wonder whether those supporters are right. The Reds are blessed with a plethora of good young attacking talent, and you have to wonder whether the 21-year-old is good enough to ever leapfrog those in front of him in Jurgen Klopp’s plans. At the moment, it’s hard to tell, but come the end of this season, the Kop should have a much clearer answer of just what Ojo is capable of.
