“It would be a crying shame if Liverpool Everton Utd Etc did not make a move for Barca Malcom,” wrote Hutchison on his personal Twitter account.

“They surley (surely) can’t allow him to move to Zenit. He has soooo much talent.”

Marca previously reported that Malcom is closing in on a move to Russia as Zenit have the financial muscle to pull off a deal.

OPINION

When you consider that Barcelona want at least £36.6million, as reported by Marca, for the Brazilian winger, it’s no surprise the likes of Liverpool haven’t made a move. This is because that is a lot of money to ask for someone who struggled to regularly feature for his club last season. Malcom played only 608 minutes in La Liga, across his 15 outings, and played only 39 minutes of Barcelona’s Champions League campaign his latest season (Source: Transfermarkt).  The winger struggled to wow when he did get on the pitch to boot. Malcom scored only one goal and registered one assist and only averaged a low rating of 6.53 across his league outings (Source: WhoScored). This hardly is the form of someone who is set to cost north of £30million and he doesn’t sound like a player who could instantly put Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane’s first-team spots under threat. While Malcom would currently be an upgrade on Liverpool players such as Harry Wilson on paper, as he has proven himself in top-flight football as he previously wowed in Ligue 1 with Bordeaux, but considering given the Welsh winger a chance comes at the bargain price of free to Jurgen Klopp, it shows why the Barcelona attacker isn’t worth their time.
