Liverpool attacker Divock Origi has revealed the words of wisdom he received from Reds legend Sir Kenny Dalglish after the team’s Champions League triumph.
The Belgian international played a pivotal part as Jurgen Klopp’s side lifted the European Cup for a sixth time in June, and the Belgian has confirmed he spoke with Dalglish after the game.
“I saw Sir Kenny Dalglish after the final and he said the first [trophy] is nice, but the second one is even more special,” he told the Daily Mirror.
“We will try to go for a second one and win as much as possible.”

For a Liverpool attacker it doesn’t get any better than receiving some words of wisdom from Sir Kenny Dalglish. The Scot is an absolute legend at Anfield and deservedly so, and he scored a fair few goals in Liverpool red over the years, so you’ve got to listen whenever he tells you anything. He makes a good point, here, as well. The first trophy for a player or a team probably comes with lots of relief. However, the second one would likely feel like confirmation that you are a real force and one of the top teams in world football. Liverpool have a claim to being the world’s finest side as it is, after winning the Champions League, and if they were to repeat that feat or follow it up with a Premier League triumph next time out, then that case would be strengthened even further and would feel even better for the players. Still, this will have been Dalglish giving Origi a bit of extra motivation to stay at Liverpool and go on to win more silverware.
