Liverpool have enquired over the potential signing of Real Madrid forward Israel Salazar, according to Bernabeu Digital.

The Spanish outlet claim that the Reds’ have asked Madrid whether the 15-year-old striker would be available, but that Salazar himself would prefer to stay at the La Liga giants.

Bernabeu Digital reports that Madrid have received over 50 overs in the past three years from teams in Europe and South America.

Salazar is suggested to have rejected Madrid’s arch-rivals Barcelona three times in his career and is yet to receive his first professional contract down to his age.

The forward sensation has already featured for both Spain under 16’s and under 17’s in his short career.

OPINION

With the obvious excitement surrounding Salazar and the way his career has progressed so quickly while being at Real Madrid, it comes as no surprise that Liverpool have reportedly asked about his services. The forward’s potential is obviously huge from his achievements, having been called up to Spanish youth international sides in the year above his age range. No one gets three separate offers from Barcelona in their career at the age of 15-years-old, unless they aren’t one of the brightest prospects in the world. Liverpool’s chances of signing the forward sensation are relatively slim, especially given the fact that the youngster has reportedly received over 50 offers – some of which will surely have included some crazy financial packages. The forward also fits in Liverpool’s suggested transfer policy of bringing in youth prospects. Although it will please Reds’ fans that their club are enquiring over the world’s best talents, this one shouldn’t go any further, especially with Salazar’s apparent wish to stay at the Bernabeu.
