With the Premier League season edging ever closer, Liverpool are still without some of their marquee players including Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Alisson Becker. That has given certain fringe squad members the option to impress Jurgen Klopp including players such as Divock Origi and Simon Mignolet, the latter of which failing to standout in pre-season, especially when making a mistake which led to Sporting Lisbon earning a draw in their last game of the American tour. Mignolet started Sunday’s game against Napoli and failed to make much of an impact as the Reds conceded two goals in a lacklustre first-half, with the Belgian international only proving how he only made two appearances last season. With Alisson becoming only the fifth keeper to achieve 20 clean sheets in a Premier League campaign, chances for Mignolet are non-existent next season. Many Liverpool fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns over the 31-year-old, calling for their club to sell him this summer as they believe he isn’t good enough to feature heavily at Anfield.
