OPINION
Even though these Liverpool fans would love to see Philippe Coutinho return to Anfield this summer, the chances of that happening are bound to be extremely low. According to Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato, the Reds have tabled an offer to sign the Barcelona attacker, 27, on a two-year loan with the option to make it permanent for £88million. It’s unrealistic to expect that Liverpool would do a deal like this. Coutinho’s form has dropped at the Nou Camp and the Reds should only be trying to spend that kind of money on younger players who will have a major impact on their first team. Jurgen Klopp’s side has been better without Coutinho – is that a sign? Although many Reds fans are drooling over the prospect of the Brazil international making a return to the Merseyside club, they should really abandon all hope now because it’s not going to happen.

Could it be possible that we've been quiet on the transfer front because Klopp and Edwards felt that if they played a long game they could get Coutinho? I don't know. I know that as someone who could play with and as an alternate to the front three, he'd be a perfect signing
