OPINION
Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Southampton included a cheeky dig at the Reds in a post on their official Twitter account announcing the signing of attacker Che Adams from Birmingham City on Monday. The video released by the Saints showed manager Ralph Hasenhuttl conducting a train towards the Second City to pick up Adams, dodging Reds boss Jurgen Klopp in the process. The German was shown flying over the top of the train in a plane, looking down with a pair of binoculars. This was clearly a reference to Liverpool’s penchant for pinching the south coast club’s best players over the last few years. The European giants have signed the likes of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk, amongst others, from the Saints over the past half decade or so. To be fair to the Reds fans, they’ve taken this well. Clearly they have a sense of humour about the whole thing and appreciate Southampton’s trolling as well.
