Jim White raved about Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson and claimed it would be a good bit of business if Bournemouth signed him on loan.

The Evening Standard reported on Tuesday that Bournemouth were closing in on a loan for the Reds winger, and White gave the potential move a thumbs up.

The talkSPORT host raved about Wilson’s free-kicks in particular, as he labelled them magnificent, before asking Natalie Sawyer if she had seen Wilson take a free-kick.

“That’s a good bit of business, have you seen this boy take a free-kick Natalie?” said White on talkSPORT (11:39am, Tuesday August 6th).

Sawyer quickly replied to say: “Oh tremendous,” referring to the fact that she had seen Wilson take a free-kick before White continued raving about the Liverpool player.

“Oh magnificent, it’s a great bit of business for Bournemouth once again,” added White.

OPINION

Wilson showed that he was capable of scoring a free-kick or two while on loan at Derby, and it’s weird that White thought Sawyer wouldn’t have seen the 22-year-old take one. After all, YouTube is filled with videos of Wilson’s best bits last season and they highlight some of his best free-kicks from last season. Wilson scored 18 goals while registering six assists for Derby last season while on loan and while that is impressive form, Jurgen Klopp clearly doesn’t think he is ready for the Reds’ first-team. However, it seems Bournemouth are willing to get the 22-year-old a shot to prove himself week-in-week-out in England’s top-flight and it’ll be interesting to see how he does. If Wilson wows at the Cherries then it will be no surprise if he returns to the Reds next summer in order to be part of their first-team set-up. Yet if he does fail to replicate his form in the Championship in the Premier League then it wouldn’t be a surprise if his permanent exit is sanctioned sooner than later. Wilson has significant time left on his contract and you feel the Reds will sell him with plenty of time left on his deal if they deem him unlikely to ever be good enough, as they will want the biggest fee possible.
