Adrian Durham has claimed Liverpool’s only rivals for the Premier League title this season are Arsenal and Manchester City.
The talkSPORT host claimed that the Gunners’ goal-hungry forwards alongside the fact that they have strengthened their defence and midfield makes them a title challenger.
Durham admitted on talkSPORT that he expects Liverpool to be weaker this season after not significantly strengthening their first-team in the transfer window.
“The title will be won by either Manchester City or Liverpool this season, that’s not rocket science,” he said.
“The only other side who could win it for me is, Arsenal.
“Liverpool, did not add significantly to their squad, certainly didn’t add to their first 11, are we expecting their front-three to last all season?”
“The title will be won by Man City or Liverpool this season. But…”
“The only other side who could win it is Arsenal. They’ve got goals galore.”

OPINION
There is no hiding the fact that Durham likes to use his hosting position to stir the pot massively. It is a clear view to suggest that either Liverpool or Manchester City will win the Premier League this season after the previous campaign. The Reds finished with 97 points and only lost on one occasion, against City, who eventually won the league with 98 points. To suggest Arsenal could win the league is nonsense and Durham can’t surely expect that to happen. The Gunners struggled to earn three points at home to Burnley last week and have looked less threatening than both City and Liverpool in the opening fortnight. Arsenal have only scored three goals so far this season, compared to City who have scored seven and Liverpool who have managed six – with the Londoners not ruthless enough to win a Premier League. Liverpool won’t hold back when they meet Unai Emery’s side at Anfield on Saturday, and could all but end any chance the Gunners have of winning the title only three weeks into the season.
