Liverpool fans drool over Firmino

When it comes to Liverpool’s front-three, if there was one player that goes under-the-radar it would be Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian forward goes about his work to great effect and works tirelessly in between both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. Firmino put the icing on the cake in the game against Southampton on Saturday, scoring the second in a 2-1 victory. Sometimes dropping deeper than the two wingers, Firmino can get on the ball more often, and in those positions, he can take advantage of spaces in the final third and create chances for his teammates – as highlighted in his stats from the opening two matches in the Premier League, averaging three shots per game as well as completing 3.5 dribbles according to WhoScored. Liverpool posted a video of Firmino’s celebration after his goal on their official Twitter account after the game – a tweet which sent the Reds’ faithful go wild in their responses. Many joked that Mane will copy his teammate after their interaction on social media after the Super Cup game on Wednesday, whereas many took the opportunity to drool over Firmino himself, with one calling the Brazilian the best in the world in his position.
