Samantha Quek has claimed that no Manchester United players would get into Liverpool’s squad.

The Olympic gold medallist made the claim on Sunday evening before the Red Devils’ trip to Wolves on Monday evening.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Quek admitted that she didn’t believe that any United player would get into the entire 25-man squad.

“Not a single player in the Manchester United squad would get into the Liverpool squad,” she said.

Liverpool have made the perfect start to the season, winning both of their games in the Premier League – continuing their run of silverware, having won both the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup compared to Man United who have only won the Europa League in recent years.

OPINION

To say that Quek is a Liverpool fan, it comes as no surprise to see her make the claim regarding the Reds’ squad. Many Liverpool fans will most likely think the same, giving the rivalry between the two clubs. When you take a step back and analyse the two club’s squads, there are definitely areas that Jurgen Klopp could improve his side with the help of some of United’s players. If given the license and freedom of the Anfield midfield, Paul Pogba could fit into Liverpool’s side perfectly with his pace and power, alongside this Harry Maguire could certainly add great power and presence alongside Virgil Van Dijk in defence, having averaged more interceptions, clearances, and blocks in the opening weekend according to WhoScored. Liverpool will be happy with their squad though and that was clear to see in the transfer window having not strengthened their squad with senior options.
