COMMENTARY
Some Liverpool fans took to Twitter in order to reveal they wanted Wolves attacker Raul Jimenez signed following his performance on Sunday. The 28-year-old assisted both goals in Wolves’ 2-0 surprise win over Manchester City, and that seemed to convince some Reds supporters that the forward was good enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side. One Liverpool fan suggested they wanted Jimenez signed up as soon as January in order to be back-up for Roberto Firmino, while one supporter seemed unfazed about when the Wolves forward was snapped up as long as he was, as they tweeted that they’d “take” Jimenez all day long. It’s no surprise that there were Liverpool fans calling for Jimenez to be signed as the 28-year-old not only wowed in Wolves’ clash with Man City, but obviously he helped the Reds go into the international break with an eight-point advantage over Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title by denying Pep Guardiola’s side a good day at the office. Aside from his two assists in his latest display, Man City clearly couldn’t handle the forward as he completed an impressive five dribbles in order to be a thorn in their side (Source: WhoScored). However while there is no denying Jimenez’s talent, do the Reds really need another centre-forward? After all Divock Origi and promising youngster, Rhian Brewster can surely step up and cover for Mohamed Salah, Firmino or Sadio Mane if any of the three end up needing a rest.

Liverpool could do a lot worse in January then picking up Rui Jimenez to backup Firmino for the stretch run. Hell of a game today.
