Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is one of the finest players in world football, and so it’s no surprise that other big teams around the world are interested in his services.

However, there are certain clubs who, when they begin to take a look at a team’s star man, it sends shivers down the spine of the supporters of the latter side.

The Liverpool faithful will surely be fearing the worst, then, after Italian outlet Tuttosport reported on Tuesday that Serie A champions and current table-toppers Juventus sent a delegation to the Reds’ victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday to scout the Egyptian superstar.

They were also looking at Spurs duo Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min, but it was Salah who had the most impact on the game out of the trio, scoring the deciding penalty in Liverpool’s 2-1 win.

We all know that this would be a disastrous blow for Liverpool were Salah to leave. The problem is that Juventus are a very attractive proposition for any player, even one who plays for the European champions. They’ve already managed to coerce one reigning European champion to join them in the past couple of years, one Cristiano Ronaldo.

The opportunity to play for a team who are serial winners, alongside one of the two greatest players of all time, would be attractive for anyone, while it would present Salah with the chance to go back to Italy, where he flourished with Roma.

It’s hard to overstate what a devastating loss this would be to the Reds. Since joining the club, the 27-year-old has scored 79 times and bagged 33 assists in 118 games [Source: Transfermarkt].

Eight of those goals and four of those assists have come so far this season, where Salah is averaging 3.7 shots, 1.6 key passes, 1.9 successful dribbles and a pass success rate of 74.4% [Source: WhoScored.com].

Liverpool fans have reason to be confident Salah wouldn’t really want to leave the Reds, but there’s always that danger, and Juve pose more of a threat than most.
