OPINION

Liverpool would massively regret not offering Milner a new deal at Anfield, with his influence running so much deeper than just on the pitch. The 33-year-old will be vital to the Reds if they are to win their first-ever Premier League title this season, and he should definitely be rewarded for that. Milner has been superb since joining Liverpool and consistently reinforces his status as one of the fittest players at the club, something which only proves that his age is not a factor in potential discussions. His vital penalty against Leicester has been bolstered by two assists from midfield, and he is one of few options behind the front-three that can contribute with goal involvements at pivotal times. Milner averages 1.6 tackles per 90 minutes as well as 2.8 shots on goal according to WhoScored, stats that highlight his effectiveness as a box-to-box midfield player, and further reinforce how big of a role he plays for Klopp and the Reds.
