Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has admitted to watching videos of Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino, looking to steal ideas from the Brazilian.

The England international has burst onto the scene at Stamford Bridge this season, nailing down a starting spot for Frank Lampard’s side. However, he still looks to other top marksmen for inspiration.

“For me in my spare time I go on Youtube and watch all the best strikers in the world play in this competition [Champions League], stealing their ideas and adding it to my game,” he said, as per the Daily Mirror.

“I watch so many players. Harry Kane, [Sergio] Aguero, [Roberto] Firmino, these are Premier League strikers obviously but also [Robert] Lewandowski and all sorts and players who have played in this competition before.”

OPINION

Abraham certainly doesn’t look like he needs to spend much time watching other strikers, what with him scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 19 games so far this campaign [Source: Transfermarkt]. However, the fact that he does says a lot about him and his hunger to improve. To be fair, he’s listed some good strikers to watch and learn from. Aguero is the master poacher, a finisher of the highest order. Then there’s Kane, a massively hard worker who has willed himself into one of the best strikers on the planet. Lewandowski, too, is arguably the finest number nine in world football at this moment in time. Then there’s Liverpool’s Bobby Firmino. The 28-year-old is the least prolific of those mentioned by Abraham, but arguably the most intelligent in the way that he plays the game. Abraham can learn a lot from the Brazilian’s creativity, his work ethic and his fantastic ability to bring the best out of those playing alongside him.
